Abstract

This study aims to determine the cognitive achievement of biology students in the application of learning models Teams Games Tournament and the use of smart card media can increase the activity of students in the learning system and digestive system of human motion. Teams Games Tournament learning model is a technique of learning by doing game team game where the technique could foster the spirit of students in teaching and learning. The learning model is aided with the help of smart card media that kolaboraif activities that could be used to teach the concepts, processes, classification, properties, facts about an object, or to repeat information. Classes are taken to implement the learning model Teams Games Tournament with the smart card is VIII5 grade SMPN 6 Siak Hulu that the number of students 25 people, which the amount of 13 boys and amount of girl are 12. Parameters measured are student learning outcomes in the form of absorption and mastery learning obtained from the quiz at each meeting and test blocks each cycle. This research is a classroom action research with descriptive analysis techniques. Descriptive analysis of learning outcomes are conducted twice a cycle consisting of 11 meetings. Absorptive capacity of students has increased by 4.44%, from the prior PTK (79.16%) after the first cycle PTK (83.60%) and increased 3,96% after the second cycle (87,56%). Classical completeness student before the PTK (48%), in the first cycle (84%) and the second cycle increased to (92%). It can be concluded that the application of the Model of Learning Teams Games Tournament by using Smart Media Card can increase the activity of learning and cognitive achievement VIII5 biology grade students of SMPN 6 Siak Hulu Academic Year 2017/2018.
