Abstract

The purpose this research is to determine the comparison of biological learning outcomes that apply Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model and the Guided Discovery Learning (GDL) learning model that is applied in grade XI students of SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaruin the academic year 2016/2017, on the material of Excretion System. Sampling was done based on homogeneity test of pre-test value. Two homogeneous classes were then chosen by drawing to determine which class will apply experimental 1 (Xii 1)or experiment 2 (X 2),then selected class XI IPA2 as experiment class 1 will apply Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model and class XI IPA1 as an experimental class 2 will apply the Guided Discovery Learning (GDL) learning model.The result of descriptive data analysis obtained average learning result of Post-Test of student, experiment class 1 = 89,86 and experiment class 2 = 91,39, the result of student psychomotor learning of experiment class 1 = 94,21 and experiment class 2 = 90.30.Analysis of uji-T data is known that T hitung (-1,39) < T tabel (2,00) with dk = 82 and standard  = 0.05, then H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected. It can be concluded that there is no difference in learning outcomes between classes applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model and the classes that apply the Guided Discovery Learning (GDL) learning model in grade XI IPA at SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2016/2017.
