Abstract

This research aimed to find out the implementation of 2013 curriculum in teaching and learning process by English teacher at eleventh grade of Sekolah Model SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Kiri. Curriculum is one of important aspects in education as a guidance to achieve the goals of education appropriate to the technological advantages and the development of science. The teachers’ role is very necessary in the success of 2013 curriculum implementation. 2013 curriculum expected to be able to improve the teaching quality and students’ competences including knowledge, skills, and attitude. If the teacher implement it well, the students with real good quality will be created as the objectives of 2013 curriculum. The researcher collected the data by using observation and interview. The data was collected in January 2018 with the English teacher of eleventh grade. The interview involved the English teacher and also the students of eleventh grade. A number of the students are five. Based on the result of this research, the implementation of 2013 curriculum in teaching and learning process by English teacher is still not successful. The students who numbered 25 people, only a few students were active or directly involved in teaching and learning process. The English teacher has obstacles in implement 2013 curriculum in areas of teaching and learning process. The obstacles are finding the right learning models and the right media because the teacher only used one learning model for every meeting that is project based learning. The teacher also did not used technology to created interesting mediaLearning model and media are important to support the success of learning process.
