Abstract

To maintain peace and order and to reconcile the community's dispute, it is the duty of the Lurah to carry out his duty, this is a manifestation in fostering the life of urban village in order to live safer, orderly, peaceful, and peaceful. Thus, the purpose of this study is to determine the role and obstacles of the Village Heads in Pangkalan Bunut Subdistrict Bunut Pelalawan District in Maintaining peace and public order. This type of research uses descriptive survey type using quantitative method analysis. Population and sample in this research are Lurah and Secretary of Lurah as well as community leaders, namely Chairman of RW / RT and community. The sampling technique used census technique and random sampling technique. While the types and sources of data used primary and secondary data with data collection techniques of observation, questionnaires, and interviews. All data in though, is presented for descriptive quantitative analysis and ends with drawing conclusions and suggestions. Based on the results of research on the role of the Village Head in maintaining the peace and order in Pangkalan Bunut Village, Bunut Sub-district, Pelalawan Regency can be concluded that it is less implemented or less important. The Lurah's obstacles in maintaining peace and public order in Pangkalan Bunut Village are lack of coordination, lack of communication, and low public participation.
