Abstract

This study discusses the interpersonal communication of guidance and counseling teachers with students who have problems in SMP 4 Siak Hulu. This research limits how interpersonal communication that exists between the two. The purpose of this study is to find out how interpersonal communication between guidance and counseling teachers with students who have problems in SMP 4 Siak Hulu and to find out what obstacles are felt from the teacher's guidance and counseling in dealing with these problems. This research method used is qualitative research. Data collection through observation, interview and documentation methods. The results of this study indicate that communication is carried out between guidance and counseling teachers with students who have problems done in a face-to-face manner. Violations committed by students are categorized into 3 (three) stages of violations, namely: minor violations, moderate violations, serious violations. The stage in handling problematic students is done by knowing the personality characteristics of students who do the problem. Previously the guidance and subject teacher, homeroom teacher and ur teacher. Student affairs. The obstacle felt by the guidance and counseling teacher in handling students who had problems was when the parents of the students were called to come to school. So, students do not give a summons to their parents. So it is long for parents to know their children's problems at school.
