Abstract

Interpersonal communication is the most effective communication to change attitudes, opinions or human behavior related to the dialogical process of conversation. The research is titled Interpersonal Communication Between Caregivers and Foster Children at Al Ilham Orphanage in Pekanbaru aims to know the interpersonal communications between caregivers and foster children at al ilham orphanage in pekanbaru. The method used in this study is a qualitative. The research shows that Interpersonal Communication Between Caregivers and Foster Children at Al Ilham Orphanage in Pekanbaru do through (1) openness (2 empathy (3) support (4) Positive sense, information by finding oneself, discovering the outside world, shaping and maintaining meaningful relationships, to play and to enjoy. The results of this research concluded that, Interpersonal Communication Between Caregivers and Foster Children at Al Ilham Orphanage in Pekanbaru that is through the process of communication with the openness between caregives and foster children, the empathy between them, the support of caregivers to foster children difficult to invite communication, as well as a positive sense of communication between caregivers with foster children are shown through the recignition of foster children who feel comfortable living in the orphanage care, and caregivers who do not feel overwhelmed when running care.
