Abstract

Gas leakage is one of the common problems that can cause serious hazards such as fires and explosions, which have negative impacts on human safety as well as environmental and material damage. Gas leakage can be caused by various factors, including user negligence, gas installation damage, and environmental conditions. Therefore, a system capable of detecting gas leakage at an early stage and providing warnings is required to minimize the potential occurrence of fires. Based on these problems, this study proposes the development of a gas leakage detection and warning system using Internet of Things (IoT) technology by implementing a fuzzy logic method to determine the level of fire potential and automatically generate warnings.The working concept of this system utilizes an MQ-2 sensor to detect gas concentration, a flame sensor to detect the presence of fire, and a DHT22 sensor to measure room temperature and humidity. All sensor data obtained are transmitted to and processed by the ESP32 microcontroller, then analyzed using fuzzy logic calculations to determine the estimated level of fire potential. The processed results are displayed on an LCD and sent to the Blynk application for real-time monitoring. The information displayed includes gas concentration, temperature, flame detection, and the estimated potential for fire occurrence. With the implementation of this system, it is expected to enhance room safety and minimize the risk of fires caused by gas leakage.
