Abstract

Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) is technology innovation of concrete which can stream and condense by itself without the help of mechanical compaction, so it’s very effective to be applied on a structure with dense reinforcement or complex mold shape.The success factor of SCC is dependent on the composition of it’s compiler material, including the kind of cement and additives such as Sika® ViscoCrete®-3115 N, which is superplasticizer based on polycarboxylate which can increase the concrete workability with reducing it’s durability. This research’s purpose is to analyze the effect of various cement brands on SCC performance. mainly on workability(slip-up) and compressive strength. The research was using 3 kinds of cement brand(Semen Padang, Holcim and Tiga Roda) with one fixed dose of Sika® ViscoCrete®-3115 N for 1% of the cement weight. The testing will be applied on fresh concrete (slump flow) and hard concrete (compressive strength of 7 days old and 14 days old), with concrete quality design fc’=30 MPa based on SNI 7656:2012. The result of the research shows that each brand of cement have different impact on workability and compressive strength of the concrete.Generally, the usage of Sika® ViscoCrete®3115 N successfully affecting the slip-up on SCC concrete, and the highest compressive strength recorded on the Tiga Roda cement mixture. These findings give a contribution on how to choose the best material for optimizing concrete quality of SCC on construction practice.
