Abstract
Success in the learning process if the teacher communication with students can be well established. To communicate with deaf students the teacher should be able to master the techniques and methods for delivering the material to the deaf student. There are two communication modes especially for deaf children that is BISINDO (Indonesian sign language) and also SIBI (Indonesian signaling system). This method is to facilitate teachers in communicating with students. Information can be well channeled if students can receive messages. Good communication can form a good communication pattern also in implementing the teaching and learning process. This research uses descriptive qualitative method and in collecting data using interview, observation, and documentation. while the data obtained based on primary data sources and secondary data sources. From result of research of communication pattern of teacher with deaf student that researcher encounter there are two communication pattern, that is one way communication pattern and two way communication pattern. One way teacher communication pattern as a source of information and students as recipients of information without any mutual communication between students and teachers. This communication occurs when the teacher certificates convey material with the students, this happens because the teacher does not understand the method of SIBI (Indonesian signaling system). while the communication pattern of two twoway communication is very good impact in teaching and learning process special teacher who teaches student deaf direction of existence of mutual communication between teacher with student. the communication system with the deaf students more using communication using the SIBI method (the Indonesian sign system) is in communicating the teacher to provide a means for deaf children such as aural (hearing loss), manual (finger spelling), and also oral (writing and reading).
