Abstract

This research aims to find out whether there was a connection between the concept of self and how to learn from the results of studying biology based on levels of students academic ability of Class XI Science majors at SMAN A District of Marpoyan Damai Lesson 2016/2017 Year. The research was carried out in February – April 2017. This research is quantitative research using the correlational approach and now use data collection, interview and documentation. The sample in this research as much as 193 students with different levels of academic ability. Data analysis in this research analysis using Pearson Product Moment. The results showed that (1) there is a fairly strong between low/weak between the concept of the self (X 1) way of learning (X2) for academic students, with the correlation coefficient value (rx 1x2) of 0,230 while the contribution of the concept of the self by means of study of 5,29%. To test the significance of t count (3,009) > t tabel (1,976), (2) there is a relationship between low/weak concept of self (X 1)) with the results of the study of biology (Y) for students academic, with the correlation coefficient value (rx1y) of 0,288 whereas the contribution of the concept of the self by means of study of 8,29%. To test the significance of t count hitung (4,339) > t tabel (1,976), and (3) there is a fairly strong relationship/are between the way of learning (X2) with the results of the study of biology (Y) students academic correlation coefficient value (rx2y) of 0,342 while the contribution of the concept of the self by means of study of 11,69%. To test the significance of t count (5,352) > t tabel (1,976), 4) there was a fairly strong correlation between the Self Concept (X1) Students’ Learning Ways (X2) with the results of studying biology (Y), with the correlation coefficient value (rx1x2y) was 0,423 while the contribution of self concept with learning ways were 17,89%. To the significant test of t count (7,119) > t tabel (1,976), shows that there is a significant relationship between the concepts of self and how to learn from studying biology results based on levela of academic ability of students of Class XI Science majors at SMAN a District Marpoyan Damai Lesson 2016/2017 Year.
