Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the relation of self-concept and study method with biology learning outcomes at eleventh grade class students of science major of Senior High School in Pekanbaru City in 2017/2018 academic year. Held from April to May 2018. Correlational approach by data collection, questionnaires, interview and documentation.. Has 116 students as sample. Data analysis from this research is using Person Product Moment correlation analysis. The result showed that (1) average from all self-concept sub-indicator is 78,07%. The average from study method sub-indicator is 70,70%. Biology learning outcomes on the high category is 50,86%, the middle category is 28,45%, and the low category is 20,69%. For conclusion this research showed (1) there is no significant relation in very low category between self-concept (X1) with biology learning outcomes (Y), with correlation coefficient value (rx1y) as big as 0,023, with selfconcept contribution to biology learning outcomes as big as 0,053%, (2) there is a significant relation in low category between study method (X2) with biology learning outcomes (Y), with correlation coefficient value (rx2y) as big as 0,274, with study method contribution to biology learning outcomes as big as 7,508% (3) there is a significant relation in low category between self-concept (X1) and study method (X2) with biology learning outcomes (Y) at eleventh grade class students of science major of Senior High School in Pekanbaru City, with correlation coefficient value (rx1rx2y) as big as 0,283 with self-concept contribution and study method with biology learning outcomes as big as 8,009%.
