Abstract
The purpose of this research is to improve students’ critical thinking skills of XI MIA4 class at SMAN 2 Tambang school year 2017/2018 through Guided Inquiry learning which is a classroom action research (CAR) with descriptive analysis. The data collection in this research began in April to May 2018. The subject of this research is 24 students’ from XI MIA4 class. Based on the analysis of the data, students’ critical thinking skills on cycle I 1 meeting 69,44% with category of quite critical, on the 2st meeting 71,87% with category of quite critical. On the cycle II 5nd meeting 70,49% with category of quite critical, on 3rd meeting 74,17% with category of quite critical. It is increased at the 6th meeting 79,73% with category of critical. For the students’ critical thinking skills on each indicator of cycle I The formulation of the problem is already present in the research, The making of hypothesis 82,87%, Collecting the data 80,09%, Analysis of the data 62,04%, and Conclusion 53,24%. On the cycle II, The formulation of the problem 86,81%, The making of hypothesis 82,63%, Collecting the data 82,64%, Analysis of the data 70,83%, and Conclusion 61,11%. Based on the result of the of the research shows that the application of Guided Inquiry learning can improve students’ critical thinking skills.
