Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning results of students ' cooperative learning model applied after the type teams games tournament (TGT) using the handout on grade VIII 1 in junior high school 12 Pekanbaru year 2017/2018. Class action research started from September until October 2017 in class VIII 1 junior high school 12 Pekanbaru year 2017/2018. The subjects of research is the grade VIII 1 junior high school 12 Pekanbaru, which amounted to 24 students. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The data analyzed are descriptive, by looking at the absorption, individual exhaustiveness and classical exhaustiveness. The results of the analysis of data from the application of the cooperative learning model type TGT using handouts for cognitive value obtained absorbance students experience increased (4%) from the prior CAR namely 76,8% to 80,8% first cycle, and an increase of 4,8% to 85,6% after the second cycle. Absorptive capacity of students to the value of KI to increase 4,6% from the prior CAR namely 78,4% to 83,0% in the first cycle, and increased by 4.7% to 87,7% after the second cycle. Based on the results and discussion can be concluded that the application of the cooperative learning model type TGT by using the handout can improve the results of studying biology grade VIII 1 in junior high school 12 Pekanbaru year 2017/2018.
