Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve students biology achievement by appliying the application of cooperative learning think pair share (TPS) type by using picture media to increase students cognitive biology achievement students of grade VIIA OF SMPN3 Ukui academic year 2015/2016. The collecting data is gathered from 25’st march to 29’st april 2016. The population of this study is students from VIIA SMPN 3 Ukui the number of population 20 students consists of 7 male students and 13 female students. The parameter measurement is from cognitive learning outcomes obtained from students Work Sheet (LKS), Homework (PR), Quiz and exam Block Examination Values. The result is processed coming from cognitive value or Concept Understanding Knowledge (PPK). The data result for PPK value or before Classroom Action Research is 65,65% less category, and the is an increasing at Cycle I 9,98% to 75,63% quite catagory, and at Cycle II increases 7,41% to 84,03% good category. Student’s classical completeness before Classroom Action Research is 40% less catagory, at Cycle I increases 20% to 60% less catagory ad Cycle II increses 30% to 90% good catagory. It can conclude that the aplication of Cognitive learning TPS type by using Picture media can increase student’s Biology cognitive learning outcomes Class VIIA SMPN 3 Ukui in the academy 2015/2016.
