Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out whether any correlation of interest of using e-book and textbooks in students’ reading achievement of the third semester at FKIP UIR. The researher focused on students’ interest in using e-book and textbooks through their reading achivement. The design of this research is Correlational research. It is a type of nonexperimental research in which the researcher measures two variables and assesses the statistical relationship . This research attempts to get the empirical data as a quantitative research that intended to investigate whether there is a significant correlation between the students who read by using E-book and textbook toward their reading achievement. This research conducted in FKIP UIR . The research time started on November 2017.The sample of this class was Class A. There are 30 students in the class. In testing the hypotheses of this research, the researcher used pearson correlation test to analyze the correlation between variables. The result of the hypothesis testing shows that the value of sig value was 0,005. If sig value ≤ 0,05 so Ha is accepted. And if sig value is > 0,05 ha is rejected and Ho is accepted. Ha means significant correlation of students’ interest of using ebook and textbooks in students’ reading achievement of the third semester at FKIP UIR. While, Ho means there is no significant correlation of students’ interest of using e-book and textbooks in students’ reading achievement of the third semester at FKIP UIR. Based on calculation the sig value was 0,000 and lower than 0.005 so Ha is accepted. In other words there is significant correlation of students’ interest of using e-book and textbooks in students’ reading achievement of the third semester at FKIP UIR.
