Abstract

One of technology developments was social media. Mostly, social media users in Indonesia were teenagers. The obtained information was social media could influence teenagers’ mental health. This research was done to find out the representation of teenager social media users’ mental health. The method used in this research was descriptive quantitative analysis. The population of this research was 306 teenagers aged 13 - 18 years old in SMAN 5 Pekanbaru, so the sampling method was purposive sampling method. The measurement was 61 questions based on mental health aspects with Alpha Cronbach’s 0,897, while the analysis used in this research was descriptive analysis through SPSS 21.00 for windows. The result showed that teenager social media users’ mental health was in average category by the percentage was 46,7% which meant, students in SMAN 5 Pekanbaru generally had average mental health (fair).
