Abstract
This research is motivated by an increase in the number of students each year choosing the Islamic Banking Department in SMK IT Al-Izhar School Pekanbaru. The formulation of the problem in this study is what factors influence students interest in choosing the Islamic Banking Department in SMK IT Al-Izhar School Pekanbaru and what factors most influence it. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence students interest in choosing the Islamic Banking Department in SMK IT Al-Izhar School Pekanbaru. The theoretical framework in this study is to find out factors that influence student interest, namely social factors, personal factors, psychological factors, intelligence factors, needs factors, and promotion mix factors. The type of research used is the design of causality. The type of data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. The population in 2018 with a sample of 73 people. The technique in sampling is used by simple random sampling, while data collection techniques are used by distributing questionnaires. To analyze data, used is quantitative analysis. In analyzing quantitative data multiple linear regression is used the calculation process the SPSS for 23.0. The results of the study show that the factors that influence students choose the Islamic Banking Department in SMK IT Al-Izhar School Pekanbaru is a social factor with a value of -1.348, a personal factor of 1.127, a psychological factor of -0.322, an intelligence factor of 0.191, a need factor of 4.148, and a promotion mix factor of 3.319. if seen from the simultaneous test value of 8.981. Of the six independent variables, the most dominant factor affecting the interest of students of Al-Izhar School Pekanbaru Vocational High School is the need factor (X5) which can be seen from the partial test value of 4,148. significant level of 0.05 where the value (Sig) is 0.000 <0.05.
