Abstract

Tangor market is one of the traditional markets that are quite popular among the people of Pekanbaru especially people who live in Tenayan Raya. This traditional market was originally just a “pasar kaget” that appeared once a week. However, due to fairly rapid population development, this market is operating every day. The purpose of this research is to find out what factors influence purchasing decisions in traditional markets (Pekanbaru Tangor market case studies) and to find out what the most factors is that influence the purchasing decisions on the Tangor market. The types and the sources of the data used are primary data and secondary data, data collection techniques obtained through questionnaires and interviews. The population of this research is all consumers who shop at the Pekanbaru Tangor market. Sampling is done by Accidental non probability sampling method, which is accidental sampling. The results showed that partially only cultural factors, personal factors and psychological factors influence purchasing decisions, while simultaneously cultural factors, social factors, personal factors and psychological factors have a significant effect.
