Abstract

The high interests of teenagers for continuing education to college is the phenomenon underlying this research, when the motive underlying the decisions relevant to its purpose as an awareness of the importance of education as well as belief in the orientation and academic competence that owned is referred to as the academic self concept. The assumption is increasingly confident with academic competence tend to decide on continued education to College. Thus the purpose ofthis research was to prove a correlations between academic self concept with decision making continuing education to college in the late teens. This research was conducted with the quantitative approach, in which the measuring instrument data collection research is the scale likert scale – type. The scale used was the academic self concept scale scale decision making and continuing education. The sample in this study are students of class III High School 8 Pekanbaru as much as 82 people are determined by purposive random sampling techniques. Based on the results of the analysis of the data by using the technique of correlation coefficients and moment found product correlation (r) of 0.356 with significance (p) of 0.001 (p < 0.01). Thus the hypothesis in this study was accepted as the conclusion of the study, meaning that there is a significant correlations between the academic self concept with decision making continuing education to College in the teenagers.
