Abstract
A livable city is a city there people can live comfortably and quietly in a city. Pekanbaru as the capital of Riau Province received the title as an uninhabitable city ranked 6th in 2017 with a value of 57.8 percent by the Indonesian Association of Planning Experts (IAP), so researchers want to examine the criteria that make Pekanbaru a livable city, as for the criteria which will be studied are 29 criteria for livable cities in Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this research is to formulate strategies and directions for developing priority indicators for Pekanbaru City towards a livable city. In this study, the data used were the public perception of 161 samples regarding the livability of the city using an online questionnaire for three months, interviews with experts and data on the existing condition of Pekanbaru City. The method used is descriptive qualitative method and the analytical method used is Process Hierarchy Analysis (AHP) to find priority indicators and priority strategies to improve the livability of Pekanbaru City. The results showed that in 2019, there was an increase in the quality of livable cities in Pekanbaru to 60 percent, from 29 criteria there were 4 criteria that needed to be improved, namely city cleanliness (40 percent), city economy (46 percent), pedestrian facilities (44 percent). and transportation accessibility (46 percent). From the results of interviews with strategists, the priority for the development of a livable city in Pekanbaru is development. Suggestions for the Pekanbaru city government to improve and complete the city's supporting infrastructure so that the level of community satisfaction related to the livability of the city of Pekanbaru increases.
