Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of leg muscle power to the passing and stopping abilities of football games of extracurricular students at YAPIM Vocational High School Siak Hulu. This type of research is a simple correlation. The population of this study amounted to 20 students. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The number of samples of this study were 20 students who participated in the extracurricular activities of the YAPIM Siak Hulu Vocational School. The research instruments were vertical jumps and soccerresistant soccer tests. The results of calculations performed obtained a correlation index of 0.202. the value is in the range between 0.200-0.400 with the correlation category there but low. The coefficient of determination obtained a value of 4.1%. This value can be interpreted that the success of passing and stopping soccer games, leg muscle power only contributes 4.1%. The conclusion in this study is that there is no significant contribution between leg muscle power to the results of passing and stopping the extracurricular football game of YAPIM Vocational High School Siak Hulu with a percentage of 4.1%.
