Abstract

This study aims to find out about the contribution of arm muscle strength to the ability of long-service badminton to students of Penjaskesrek in semester VI of class A-H Islamic University of Riau. The type of this research is correlation. The population in this study is 337 students from 8 classes, while the sample is 40 people using sampling technique that is random sampling, because of the limitations and ability of researchers, the sample is taken based on the 5 best values in each class. However, the sample was only 36 people. Then the sample I took was 36 people. The test instrument used in this study was a push up test to measure arm muscle strength, and a long service test to measure the long service ability of badminton. The data analysis technique used is product moment correlation. Based on the calculation results (attached) the value of r count is 0.23 smaller than rtable 0.329. The results of testing the T test, can be obtained tcount of 1.37 while ttable 1.69, then it can be concluded that there is no relationship between arm muscle strength to long service skills in badminton games on students in the sixth semester of Penjaskesrek class A-H Riau Islamic University with a contribution value of 5.29% with a low category.
