Abstract

Based on the observation that has been done against the Badminton Athletes in PB Space Achievement Gemilang Pekanbaru seen that the accuracy smash conducted athlete is still less hard so shutlle dismash cock which can easily be restored and there are not exactly on the target or the opposite field. This is probably due to the lack of maximum strength athlete arm muscles. Besides other things also affect the accuracy of smash athletes are hand eye coordination, poor motor coordination that will lead to smash produced is not exactly on target. Then the athlete's explosive power arm muscles are still not optimal, is evident from the results that do often get caught smash Dinet or out of the opposite field. In research aims to determine the contribution of the accuracy of the arm muscle strength smash badminton athletes at Performance Space PB Gemilang Pekanbaru. This type of research is correlational, which is a statistical tool, which can be used to compare the results of measurements of two different variables in order to determine the level of association between these variables. A population of 10 people. The sampling technique used is total sampling technique that if the entire population sampled. So that the study sample of 10 people. Data analysis technique used is the correlation (r). Based on the research results obtained by the correlation value or the value of the arm muscle strength relation to the accuracy smash badminton athletes at Performance Space PB Gemilang Pekanbaru 0.762 at significance level of 5% found rtabel = 0.666. thus rhitung> rtabel or 0.762> 0.666. Then the unknown value of its contribution is by way KP = r2 x 100 or (0.7622 x 100%) = 58%. It can be concluded that there is a contribution to the accuracy of the arm muscle strength smash badminton athletes at Performance Space PB Gemilang Pekanbaru.
