Abstract
This study aims to determine the profile of the Science / Biology laboratory and to know the competency of the Science / Biology laboratory management teacher at the Pekanbaru 6 State High School in 2018/2019. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis. The sample in this study was the head of the Science / Biology laboratory at Pekanbaru State Senior High School 6, data obtained through observation sheets, questionnaires, interviews, document recording. The subject of this research is a biology laboratory and a biology laboratory manager at Pekanbaru Public High School 6 which amounts to 1 person. Technical analysis uses percentages. From the research results obtained the percentage of laboratory profiles for each type of laboratory facilities obtained the highest percentage in educational media by 100% with very complete categories and the lowest percentage of teaching aids by 25% with incomplete categories. And the percentage of the competence of laboratory management teachers obtained the highest percentage in the personality aspect of 85.43% in the highly competent category and the lowest percentage in managerial aspects of 43.28% in the category of quite competent. The results showed that the laboratory profile of Pekanbaru State Senior High School 2018/2019 obtained a percentage of 58.70% in the full category and in accordance with Minister of National Education Regulation No.24 of 2007 and the teacher competency in laboratory management was 60.19% with a fairly competent category.
