Abstract

The ineffectiveness of supervision by UPT Bidang Pelayanan dan Pemberdayaan Sosial as a unit responsible for supervising social institutions in Pekanbaru City has caused many institutions illegally operates, it causing social institutions to be unfit for habitation. The purpose of this study was to determine evaluation duties of the Social and Funeral Service Department at Pekanbaru City in Supervising Social Institution. This study is qualitative research with data collection techniques used interviews involving key informants, involved the Head of the Field of Social Services and Empowerment, Head of Bina Remaja Social Institution (PSBR), Head of Ar-Rahim Pekanbaru Orphanage and Head of Putri Asyiyah Orphanage Riau Region.The results of the study show that: 1) The evaluation duties of the Social and Funeral Service Department at Pekanbaru City in Supervising Social Institution in generally has proceeded well because it has coordinated and controlled the welfare services of social institutions. Conduct guidance and formulation of technical guidance along with control of service programs and empowerment in social institutions. Coordinating, coaching but still not optimal in formulating inventory of data on social welfare problems (PMKS). 2) Barriers to the implementation of the tasks of the Pekanbaru City Social and Cemetery Office in the implementation of social care supervision consist of many social institutions in Pekanbaru that are not or still not registered yet and the lack of intensity of verification of data collection of persons with social welfare problems (PMKS) in Pekanbaru City.
