Abstract

This study was conducted to compare the biology student learning outcomes between VIII classes that implement cooperative learning model think pair share with VIII 2 1 classes that implement cooperative learning model think talk write using handouts in SMPN 08 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2017 / 2018. Retrieval of data starting from 18 Juli to 2 Agustus 2017. The population is class VIII at SMPN 08 Pekanbaru, amounting to 131 students, the study sample consisted of two studies classes are classes that implement the experiment 1 think pair share with handouts (VIII ) and the experimental class 2 that apply think talk write with handouts (VIII 2 1). This study was an experimental study. Results show that the learning outcomes of students in the two classes of research before treatment is the same as the absorption of 69,3%. In the experimental class 1 after application of cooperative learning model think pair share using handouts increased by cognitive absorption is 81,7%, while the experimental class 2 after application of cooperative learning model think talk write using handouts increased to 83,9%, there is a difference as much as 2.2% in absorption between the two classes of research. Cognitive classical completeness graders experiment 1 was 76,5%, whereas in the experimental class 2 is 83.3%, there is a difference between class classical completeness cognitive experiment 1 and experiment 2 as much as 6,8%. Significan (0,05), where is t(11,3 > 1,66). Thus it can be concluded that there are differences in the biology of learning outcomes of students between classes that implement cooperative learning model think pair shate with the class that implements cooperative learning model think talk write using the handout on class VIII at SMPN 08 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2017/2018 .
