Abstract

Population density greatly affects the quality of life on the community, because a city that has a high population density will arise competition between residents to maintain life and improve the quality of life of its people. This study aims to determine the effect of urban population density on quality of life community and improvement strategies quality of life community in Pekanbaru City using a quantitative descriptive research method. Sources of data in this study are primary and secondary with literature data collection techniques and interviews. While the data analysis method was carried out by quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect on population density quality of life People in Pekanbaru City, with a significance value of 0,036. Then based on the IFAS EFAS analysis, ten strategies were obtained based on the total weighting priority, namely; (a) Expanding the reach of health insurance, (b) 12-year compulsory education program, (c) Providing business training to micro and small entrepreneurs in attracting residents or communities in Pekanbaru City, (d) Increasing partnership and cross-sector support in behavioral development Clean and Healthy Living (PHBS) in Pekanbaru City, (f) Providing Capital or Loans to Small and Medium Enterprises, (g) Improve the quality and capacity of teaching and learning facilities and infrastructure, (h) Provide capital or soft loans and training to micro and small entrepreneurs. (i) Implementing environmental quality improvement programs, (j) Opening alternative education channels.
