Abstract

The Central POM has a very important role in providing protection to consumers from drugs and foods that contain harmful substances. Thus the research objectives to be achieved are to find out and analyze the Role of the Riau Province Drug and Food Supervisory Agency in Food Supervision in the City of Pekanbaru, and its inhibiting factors. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive method with a population and sample set from government and society totaling 27 people, data collection techniques used by questionnaires. Then all the data collected is classified and analyzed to obtain research conclusions. The role of the Riau Food Supervisory Agency in Food Supervision in the City of Pekanbaru is in a pretty good category, Inhibiting Factors The Role of the Riau Province Food Supervisory Agency in this Research Lack of supervision of the circulating food products, the number of employees of the POM Center that oversees food expires for the Riau region as many as 20 people (the field of examination and preparation), and considered insufficient by the extent of the supervision area.
