Abstract

Regional Regulation of Kepulauan Meranti Regency Number 06 Year 2015 concerning Environmental Pollution and Damage Control in Article 2 Control of Pollution and Environmental Damage Implemented based on the principle: a. responsible; b. sustainability and sustainability; c. harmony and balance; d.cohesiveness; e. benefits; f. caution; g. justice; h. ecoregion; i. biodiversity; j. polluters pay; k. participatory; l. local wisdom; and M. governance. Then, in this study the problem was seen based on Chapter VII of the Article 12 Prevention Control Procedure, Article 22 Countermeasures, Article 24.The purpose of this study was to look at the role of the Department of Environment and Forestry in Waste Control which is currently still a problem. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The location of this research was carried out at the Office of the Environment and Forestry of the Kepulauan Meranti Regency. The informants in this study were the Head of the Environment and Forestry Service, Acting on Environmental Pollution and B3 Waste, Environmental Damage Safety, Sago Industry Entrepreneurs who have Permits and Entrepreneurs of Sago Industries that do not have Permits, and Communities. Data Collection Techniques namely Observation, Documentation, interviews and damage. Based on the results of research on the Role of the Office of Environment and Forestry in Pollution Control and Environmental Damage in Merbau District, Kepulauan Meranti Regency. Good enough categorized. Obstacles in the Role of the Office of Environment and Forestry, namely the lack of maximum monitoring carried out in the field and the affirmation of strong sanctions against sago entrepreneurs who conduct waste pollution.
