Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of financial performance as an indicator of success for companies in the healthcare sector, which is influenced by corporate governance and ownership structure. The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of female directors, foreign ownership, government ownership, and firm size on the financial performance of healthcare companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2019–2024 period. This research uses a quantitative approach with secondary data in the form of annual financial statements of companies selected through purposive sampling. The data analysis method employed is panel data regression, with the selection of the best model conducted through the Chow test, Hausman test, and Lagrange Multiplier test, which indicate that the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) is the appropriate model to be used, followed by hypothesis testing using partial tests (T-test) and a simultaneous test (F-test). The results show that partially, female directors have a significant effect on corporate financial performance, while foreign ownership, government ownership, and firm size do not have a significant effect on the financial performance of healthcare companies. Simultaneously, all independent variables have a significant effect on financial performance, leading to the conclusion that corporate governance characteristics and ownership structure collectively continue to play a role in explaining the financial performance of healthcare companies.
