Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of information technology competence and workload on employee performance with motivation as an intervening variable at the Rectorate of the Islamic University ofRiau. This study uses quantitative research. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire. The population in this study amounted to 106 employees of the Rectorate of the Islamic University of Riau. This study uses Partial Least Square (PLS 3 .0) data analysis. The results of this study indicate that competence and workload have a significant effect on employee performance. Technology competence has a significant effect on the performance of employees who have computer certificates. Workload has a significant effect on the work motivation of employees who have computer certificates. Information technology competence does not have a significant effect on the performance of employees who have computer certificates through work motivation. Workload has a significant effect on the performance of employees who have certificates and do not have certificates through work motivation.
