Abstract

Problems related to the number of waste storage bins provided by the government at the Mandau District TPS have not been able to accommodate all the amount of waste produced by the community, still found scattered garbage outside the Trash Bin, Not every day the garbage is collected, and there is no composting and supporting facilities to become compost. The purpose of the study was to analyze and explain the waste management of the Bengkalis Regency Environmental Service Unit (Study at the Mandau District UPT). Informants in this study consisted of the Bengkalis Regency Environmental Service Unit, the Mandau District Head, the Bengkalis Regency Environmental Service Unit Employees, the Mandau District Community, and Bumdes. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interview, and document techniques. Data analysis in this study used data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of the study indicate that waste management by the Bengkalis Regency Environmental Service Unit (Study in Mandau District) has been implemented well. However, one of the less implemented programs is the waste bank program, namely the Provision of waste management infrastructure and facilities, Composting, Waste handling in an effort to improve city cleanliness, Improvement of waste bank management, Improvement of Final Disposal Site (TPA) Infrastructure, Construction of Temporary Disposal Sites (TPS), Waste Management and Supporting Infrastructure (DAK). The final waste collection and distribution or management has not been managed well. Then in the field, scattered waste is still found, as well as in the TPS there is still remaining waste that has not been collected. It is recommended that in the future, waste management at the UPT is sufficiently implemented, which has not been implemented well, the Waste Bank.
