Abstract

This study aimed to develop a guidebook on mini solar panels and ion-exchange bio-batteries based on the interaction between ammonia and eggshells as a science learning medium for the topic of environmentally friendly technology at the junior high school level. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Plomp development model, which consists of the preliminary research phase, the development or prototyping phase, and the assessment phase. The scope of the study was limited to the expert validation stage (expert review). The developed product is a practicum guidebook that contains fundamental concepts of solar energy, bio-batteries, and the utilization of eggshell waste, as well as detailed procedures for constructing mini solar panels and bio-batteries as contextual learning media. Product validation was conducted by three experts, namely a subject-matter expert, a media expert, and a learning expert. Data were collected using Likert-scale validation instruments and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The validation results indicated validity levels of 100% from the subject-matter expert, 87% from the media expert, and 92% from the learning expert, resulting in an overall average validity of 93%. Based on the established validity criteria, the developed guidebook is categorized as highly valid and suitable for use as a learning.
