Abstract
The maintenance of quail requires optimal cage environmental conditions to ensure animal health and productivity. One of the common problems encountered in the field is that monitoring of cage temperature, drinking water volume, and drinking water quality is still conducted manually, making it inefficient and prone to delays in handling unfavorable cage conditions. Therefore, a monitoring system capable of providing cage quality information quickly, accurately, and easily accessible is required. This study aims to design and develop a Smart Quail Cage System based on the Internet of Things (IoT) by applying the Tsukamoto fuzzy logic method to assess quail cage quality. The system utilizes a DHT22 sensor to measure cage temperature, an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to measure drinking water volume, and a turbidity sensor to detect the level of drinking water turbidity. Data from the three sensors are processed by an ESP32 microcontroller and analyzed through the stages of fuzzification, inference, and defuzzification to produce an output in the form of a cage quality percentage. The processed data are displayed on an LCD and a buzzer as a local warning indicator and transmitted in real time to a web-based dashboard. Based on the testing results, the system demonstrates stable sensor readings, consistent fuzzy calculation results, and the ability to provide real-time cage condition information. The proposed system is considered effective in assisting farmers in monitoring and maintaining quail cage quality efficiently using IoT technology.
