Abstract
The rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has created new opportunities in industrial automation, particularly in object handling and sorting processes. This research focuses on the design and implementation of an IoT-based robotic arm capable of remote control through a web-based interface and equipped with a TCS3200 color sensor to detect object colors. The system utilizes an ESP32 microcontroller, five servo motors as actuators, and an acrylic frame as the structural body of the prototype. The control interface is developed using HTML and CSS, enabling real-time robotic arm movement through Wi-Fi communication. The study employs an experimental method by conducting tests on three primary aspects: color detection accuracy, object transfer time, and remote-control delay performance. The TCS3200 sensor was tested using three primary colors (red, green, blue), with 10 trials for each color. The results indicate accuracy levels of 90% for red, 100% for green, and 90% for blue, with an overall accuracy rate of 93.3%. Meanwhile, the average object transfer time was recorded at 6.47 seconds with a standard deviation of 0.48 seconds, demonstrating stable servo movement. Delay testing showed that the system responds within 0.8 seconds on a local network, 2.5 seconds with a stable internet connection, and 3.8 seconds under weak internet conditions. The findings reveal that the developed IoT-based robotic arm performs well in detecting object colors, lifting, and sorting objects automatically based on sensor readings. The web-based control interface also functions reliably and remains responsive under various network conditions. Overall, this prototype demonstrates strong potential for application in light industrial automation, particularly in colorbased sorting systems.
