Abstract

The development of elephant wildlife tourism in Buluh Cina Village, Kampar Regency, holds significant potential as a wildlife conservation area that can support the local economy and environmental sustainability. However, the management of this tourism potential is still limited. This study aims to analyze the potential and formulate development strategies for the elephant wildlife tourism area in Buluh Cina Village. The research method used is a descriptive approach with qualitative analysis, through interviews with relevant stakeholders and field observations. The findings show that the area has high biodiversity, but limited infrastructure and lack of promotion are major challenges. Recommended development strategies include improving tourism facilities, more effective promotion, and empowering local communities in tourism management. The conclusion of this study is that the development of elephant wildlife tourism in Buluh Cina Village has the potential to enhance the local community’s welfare and support the conservation of the Sumatran elephants, provided that it is supported by appropriate policies and planning.
