Abstract

Dumai Islamic Center is a center for da'wah, Islamic religious learning, Quran study, and an icon to be remembered by visitors and a source of pride for the people of Dumai City. Parking is a common problem in crowded places. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of off-street parking for visitors and the capacity of parking space requirements at Dumai Islamic Center. The method used in this study was a direct survey in the field by recording incoming and outgoing vehicles at the research location. This study was conducted for 6 days in February, namely on Fridays and Saturdays with a daily time of 10 hours at certain times. From the vehicle data, an analysis was carried out to obtain parking accumulation, parking duration, parking volume, parking turnover, parking index, capacity and parking space requirements. The results of the analysis obtained an average accumulation of four-wheeled vehicles on Friday, namely 59 vehicles / hour and Saturday 65 vehicles / hour, an average accumulation of two-wheeled vehicles on Friday, namely 94 vehicles / hour and Saturday 79 vehicles / hour, the average duration of four-wheeled vehicles on Friday is 01.05 / hour and Saturday 01.18 / hour, the average duration of two-wheeled vehicles on Friday is 0.59 / hour and Saturday 1.16 / hour, the average volume of four-wheeled vehicles on Friday is 165 vehicles and Saturday 251 vehicles, the average volume of two-wheeled vehicles on Friday is 308 vehicles and Saturday 325 vehicles, the average turnover of four-wheeled vehicles on Friday is 4 vehicles / plot and Saturday 6 vehicles / plot, the average turnover of two-wheeled vehicles on Friday is 2 vehicles / plot and Saturday 2 vehicles / plot, The average index of four-wheeled vehicles on Friday is 1.304% and Saturday is 1.452%, the average index of two-wheeled vehicles on Friday is 0.627% and Saturday is 0.524%, the average parking space requirement for four-wheeled vehicles on Friday is 15 vehicles/hour and Saturday is 29 vehicles/hour, the average parking space requirement for two-wheeled vehicles on Friday is 23 vehicles/hour and Saturday is 37 vehicles/hour. The current capacity for four-wheeled vehicles is 45 SRP and for two-wheeled vehicles 150 SRP, with a capacity of 2,000 people. Research analysis concludes that the current parking capacity is sufficient for routine or small events. However, when large events attract 2,000 people, additional parking space is needed.
