Abstract

This study was motivated by the widespread practice of buying and selling money bouquets, which had become a trend in academic and social events. This phenomenon raised Islamic legal issues related to the validity of contracts and the potential for elements of usury, gharar, or maisir. The theoretical frameworks of the study were the concept of buying and selling in Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh muamalah), the pillars and conditions for a valid contract, the principle of justice, and the views of Islamic scholars regarding money as a medium of exchange. The literature review also examined previous studies on buying and selling money bouquets in various contexts. This was a descriptive qualitative study with a field research approach. The data collection techniques were obtained through observation, interviews with the shop owners of Yeni Flowers and Bee Florest Pekanbaru, and documentation. The data analysis techniques of the study were conducted through data reduction, presentation, and verification to draw conclusions. The results of the study indicated that the buying and selling of money bouquets in both shops was carried out with a contract that met the pillars and requirements of buying and selling, and the selling price emphasized the arrangement services and supporting materials, rather than the nominal value of the money. Therefore, these transactions could be categorized as compliant with Islamic law principles as long as there was no additional price added to the nominal value.
