Abstract
Gamophobia is a form of anxiety towards the institution of marriage, influenced by childhood experiences, family relational patterns, patriarchal cultural values, and social pressure regarding women's roles. This research aims to describe Gamophobia in early adulthood women by exploring their subjective experiences and the underlying factors. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with three women aged 22–24 years. The results indicate that Gamophobia emerges as a response to past emotional experiences, interpersonal relationship dynamics, and cultural and social pressures to marry by a certain age. Although the participants desire loving relationships, they choose to delay or avoid marriage due to fears of losing selfidentity and psychological stability. In this context, Gamophobia functions as a protective mechanism and an effort to preserve space for personal development in accordance with their held values.
