Abstract
Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) generally have low levels of empathy due to the influence of their family, social environment, and socioeconomic conditions. The Abiseka Center in Pekanbaru plays a role in providing training to foster their psychosocial development. This study aims to describe the empathy of children in conflict with the law who underwent training at the Abiseka Center. The study used a qualitative descriptive method with three informants aged 16–17 selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews and observations, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that informants' levels of empathy varied. Some informants struggled to understand others' feelings, had difficulty putting themselves in their shoes, and rarely demonstrated prosocial behavior. Factors influencing empathy include parenting styles, cognitive abilities, and mood and feelings. Training at the Abiseka Center helped some informants demonstrate increased empathy.
