Abstract
Earthwork embankment is the process of adding materials such as excavated soil, sand, crushed stone, or aggregate mixtures to a designated area in order to achieve the required elevation, shape, and compaction as specified in the design. In construction projects, particularly embankment work at oil well sites, the role of heavy equipment is crucial to support human resources during field operations. The use of heavy equipment is expected to maximize work results and improve time efficiency. Several issues commonly encountered in embankment projects include long hauling distances, weather conditions, and relatively narrow access roads, all of which affect equipment productivity. The method employed in the productivity analysis is the time study method. This method is a work measurement technique that systematically collects data based on the amount of time required to complete a specific task, aiming to evaluate and improve work efficiency and equipment performance. Based on the analysis results related to productivity capacity, duration, equipment requirements, and the factors influencing productivity, the following conclusions were obtained. The productivity capacity of the excavator is 348,6 m³/hour, with a daily productivity of 2440,2 m³/day and a cycle time of 19.5 seconds. The dump truck productivity is 10,65 m³/hour, with a daily productivity of 85,2 m³/day for an 8hour work duration, and a cycle time of 69 minutes. The bulldozer productivity is 250,67 m³/hour, with a daily productivity of 2005,36 m³/day for an 8-hour work duration, and a cycle time of 35.76 seconds. The productivity of the vibrator roller is 285.72 m³/hour, with a daily productivity of 2000,04 m³/day and a cycle time of 74.8 seconds. The required number of excavators is 1 unit, whereas the actual number used in the field is 1 units. The required number of dump trucks is 29 units, compared to 26 units available on site. The required number of bulldozers is 1 units, while the actual number used is 1 unit, and the vibrator roller required is 1 unit. Based on the duration analysis, the estimated working period is 8 days for the excavator, 9 days for the dump truck, 10 days for the bulldozer, and 10 days for the vibrator roller. In actual field conditions, the heavy equipment operated for 15 days to complete a total work volume of 20,475 m³. The factors influencing heavy equipment productivity include weather conditions for all equipment, hauling distance for dump trucks, site accessibility for dump trucks, and equipment breakdowns for all units.
