Abstract

Children's social skills can be developed through learning and guidance from adults, especially parents. One example is the crucial role of fathers in children's social development. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the relationship between father involvement and the social skills of early childhood children aged 4-5 in kindergartens in Teluk Meranti District, Pelalawan Regency. The research method used was quantitative type of corellation, with a sample of 31 parents of early childhood children from Tunas Bangsa Kindergarten and Panduk Lestari State Kindergarten. Data collection was conducted through direct questionnaire distribution in the field. Data analysis was conducted statistically through validity and reliability tests, normality tests, and correlation tests. The research that there is a relationship between father involvement and the social skills of 4-5-year-olds in kindergartens in Teluk Meranti District, Pelalawan Regency through the Spearman's rho correlation test of 0.657 with a significance value of 0.000.
