Abstract

This study on Qur’an reading and spiritual intelligence aimed to examine Qur’an reading activities and their influence on students’ spiritual intelligence. Qur’an reading activities were implemented as a foundational source to provide motivation for students to perform positive actions in their daily lives, to discover their personal identity, and to develop awareness in practicing Islamic teachings. This study employed a quantitative method with a correlational approach. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to 25 eighth-grade students, and a saturated sampling technique was used. Based on the results obtained from the questionnaires, the coefficient of determination (R Square) was 0.509, and the adjusted coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) was 0.488. These results indicated that Qur’an reading contributed 50.9% to students’ spiritual intelligence, while the remaining 49.1% was influenced by other factors outside the model examined in this study.
