Abstract

This study aimed to determine the efforts of Islamic Studies (PAI) teachers in fostering students' respect for teachers at SMAN 2 Siak Hulu. The background of this study was based on the phenomenon of declining respect and politeness among students, which was a challenge for the Islamic Studies teachers. This was a descriptive qualitative study. The data collection techniques of the study were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that the efforts of Islamic Studies teachers to foster students' respect were carrying out through various strategies, such as providing role models in behavior, fostering polite behavior, instilling Islamic values through religious learning and activities, and providing individual advice and guidance to students. The conclusion of the study was that the Islamic Studies teachers played a crucial role in fostering students’ respect
