Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students at Al Fikri Islamic Green Junior High School Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research was to examine the influence of teachers’ professional competence on students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Education subjects at Al Fikri Islamic Green Junior High School Pekanbaru. The research employed a correlational design with a quantitative approach. The population of the study consisted of 20 eighth-grade students, all of whom were included as the research sample. Data were collected through questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were the normality test, linearity test, and hypothesis testing. The findings revealed that teachers’ professional competence had a significant influence on students’ learning outcomes. This was evidenced by a significance value of < 0.05 in 0.000. The magnitude of the influence of teachers’ professional competence on students’ learning outcomes was 77.1%, which fell into the “strong” category, while the remaining 22.9% was influenced by other factors not addressed in this study.
