Abstract

Procrastination is a behavior of delaying tasks or responsibilities that should be completed, which, if left unchecked, can become an obstacle in the learning process. This study aims to obtain an overview of the level of procrastination among students at the Islamic University of Riau. The research was conducted on 390 students using a procrastination scale instrument with a reliability coefficient of 0.927. Based on descriptive quantitative analysis, it was found that the average level of student procrastination was in the moderate category, with a mean score of 57.24, which falls within the range of 51.64–64.48. The distribution of categories showed that 23 students (5.90%) were in the very low category, 112 students (28.72%) in the low category, 113 students (28.97%) in the moderate category, 125 students (32.05%) in the high category, and 16 students (4.10%) in the very high category. Based on demographic characteristics, the majority of respondents were female (204 students). In terms of semester level, most of the respondents were in the sixth semester, totaling 129 students. Based on residence, 262 students lived in Pekanbaru. Meanwhile, by faculty, the largest number of respondents came from the Faculty of Education, totaling 70 students.
