Abstract

Some people experience work stress experienced by oil palm workers in Muara Jalai Village, due to the uncertain fruit officer problem. This creates anxiety for oil palm workers where the workers depend on their lives as oil palm workers. Therefore, social support is needed to reduce and help with the problems experienced. This study aims to determine the effect of social support on the work stress of oil palm farmers in Muara Jalai Village, Kampar Regency. The subjects in this study consisted of 205 people. The data for this study were collected using a social support scale and a work stress scale. The sampling technique used was a saturated sampling technique. The data analysis technique used a simple linear regression technique. Based on the results of the statistical analysis, it was known that there was a significant influence of F = 6.555 and P = 0.012 (p <0.5), with a value of 0.041 or 4.1% of the large influence of social support on work stress and 95.9% influenced by other variable factors. Thus, it was concluded that workers who experience work stress really need social support.
