Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the results of the guidance provided by the sub-district head in the implementation of village government in Minas Sub-district, Siak Regency. It also aims to identify the obstacles faced by the sub-district head in guiding the village government in Minas Sub-district, Siak Regency. This research uses a descriptive type with a quantitative approach, with a population consisting of the sub-district head, head of Minas Jaya village, and sub-district office staff totaling 20 people, using a census sampling method. Data collection was conducted through interviews, questionnaires, and observation. All collected data were grouped according to type and analyzed descriptively to draw conclusions from the research results. Based on the findings, the evaluation of the guidance in the implementation of Minas Jaya village government by the subdistrict head in Minas Sub-district, Siak Regency falls into the "fairly good" category because the five research indicators — providing mentoring, giving direction, delivering education and training, issuing instructions, and providing literature or manuals — have been carried out. The factors hindering the guidance by the sub-district head to the village government include that mentoring is not conducted regularly, direction is only given when village officials encounter problems in their work processes, and the sub-district head does not provide monthly education and training. The sub-district head only provides guidance when receiving reports of difficulties in village government duties.
