Abstract

This study examines the role of the Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda) in the development of Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) in Pekanbaru City. The focus of this study is to determine the extent to which Dekranasda acts as a motivator, mobilizer, and facilitator in supporting SMIs, as well as to identify supporting and inhibiting factors. The method used was descriptive quantitative, with data collected through questionnaires and interviews with 35 respondents consisting of Dekranasda administrators and SMIs. The results indicate that Dekranasda's role is instrumental, particularly in providing training, facilitating access to promotions, and supporting collaboration. However, obstacles remain, such as limited digital technology and the low competitiveness of SMIs. This study concludes that Dekranasda plays a crucial role in developing SMEs in Pekanbaru City, but also needs to enhance innovation, technology utilization, and digital-based marketing to enhance SME competitiveness.
