Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in fostering students' learning motivation in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) for fifth grade at SD Negeri 113 Pekanbaru. The background of this research is the low level of students' learning motivation, reflected in their lack of attention to teachers, incomplete assignments, and boredom during the learning process. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and then analyzed using an interactive model. The results revealed that the implementation of the PjBL model increased students' engagement, built their self-confidence, and encouraged them to take more responsibility in the learning process. The main challenges encountered were limited facilities and differences in students’ ability to collaborate. Overall, the application of PjBL can be considered an alternative solution to improve students’ learning motivation in IPAS subjects at elementary schools.
